U.S. Ambassador to Poland Discusses the War in Ukraine

(CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA) – On Thursday, April 27, the Honorable Mark Brzezinski, Ambassador of the United States to Poland, will speak at a virtual event co-hosted by the UVA Center for Politics’ Ambassador Series and UVA Global Affairs in partnership with the European Studies Program and the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies.

Ambassador Brzezinski will participate in a dialogue with UVA’s Vice Provost for Global Affairs Stephen Mull, who also served as the Ambassador of the U.S. to Poland from 2012-2015. The dialogue will focus on the latest issues impacting Poland and the U.S. with particular emphasis on the war in Ukraine.

Mark Brzezinski was sworn in as Ambassador of the U.S. to Poland in December 2021 and previously served as the Ambassador to Sweden from 2011 to 2015. He also served as Executive Director of the White House’s Arctic Executive Steering Committee and on President Bill Clinton’s National Security Council staff as Director for Russia and Eurasia and later for the Balkans. He is the founder and principal of Brzezinski Strategies and was a partner at McGuireWoods LLP.
